How old do students have to be to join the Academy?
For main classes, we accept children from the age of years upwards. Our Groovy Tots classes are for children of any age who can walk confidently.
What is the right age for a student to start classes?
There is no ideal age for a student to start classes - it's never too late to learn! All students are put into age appropriate classes, so even if a student is 14 years old and decides to take up ballet they will be put into a class with other students their age, experience will not make a difference. Dance is a fantastic form of exercise and is beneficial for all ages.
What do students wear to classes?
We have different uniforms for different classes, however there is no need to invest in anything until we know that the student is settled and happy in their classes. Loose, comfortable clothing such as leggings and a t-shirt is great to begin with. Bare feet is perfect for Ballet, Modern and Acro and a sturdy shoe for Tap.
Where are classes held?
Classes are held in Whitefield: All Saints Church Hall, Church Lane, Whitefield, M45 7NE. We are a 2 minute walk from the Whitefield Metrolink stop and Morrisons Supermarket.
When do classes take place?
Our classes take place on weekday evenings and weekends. Please contact us for specific class times.
